Having lived in Nashville for the last 7 years, I feel a tinge of nostalgia on days like today when I’m reminded of the great people and art that I knew there. There is a great profile of the trickster Jack White, who lives in the Nash and runs a record shop/label in the city. I love that he had business cards made that say: “John A. White III, D.D.S. — Accidentist and Occidental Archaeologist.”
Today also brings a profile on Nashville print makers including my friend Bryce McLeod, owner of Isle of Printing. Bryce is a real genius–I have three of his pieces in my small apartment, so my home life is filled with his images. One of them is a piece we commissioned as part of the Gabriela Lena Frank project–a piece celebrating her album “Hilos.” You can still buy a copy (although it was a limited print run–so hurry!) here at etsy.
