The American Sociological Association (formerly titled the American Sociological Society, or “ASS”) is holding its annual meetings at the end of this week. As usual, the young’uns are up to their hijinx.

My friend & colleague Gina Neff and I are hosting a book party to which we’ve invited both the Columbia alums (since we don’t have–and to my memory never have had–a DAN) and the bloggers (and lurkers, and commenters), and we hope to see you there.
