This is both a book review (1001 Paintings You Must See Before You Die) and an art history lesson–and a good one–but it makes my point for me: art history is artistic creation, valued for its beauty rather than its reliability. Which is fine. As long as you’re not looking to art commentators for the truth, or even a good critique of the truth claims of others. Unfortunately, this dude retreats into “no one knows what art really means.”
Also, do you kiss your mother with that mouth, Captain Fucknuckle?
